Currently expecting dd1, we (husband and I) have given loads of thought about where dd will sleep. I have read that co-sleeping is unadvised and so are co-sleepers safe? We are only thinking of having one baby for a good few years. What is most popular atm / any advice would be super helpful! Thanks!!!! Smile Confused Smile

personally would get a cot, and pop one of these inside link its a safety hammock, so they can't suffocate by turning on their face etc. by getting a cot, it means that when they get slightly bigger you can remove the hammock and still continue to use the cot (until they are about 2) so they do last.

If I have another baby (and a big enough bedroom) I’d just go straight to the cot from day 1 but have it set up in our room obviously. With DD we had a Moses basket as the room was small, she was happy to sleep in it but outgrew it so quickly that it was a total waste of money! Lots of pram carrycots are suitable for overnight sleep so that can be a good alternative to the Moses basket, especially for daytime naps. Not knocking anyone that does it but personally co-sleeping is not my thing and I only see myself trying it if desperate from lack of sleep.
