Nap time help needed!

My DD1 is 2 years and 7 months. She’s always been a great sleeper but this past week has turned into a nightmare at nap time. Not even the last week, it’s been 4 days and I’m already at my wits end Blush. Usually, I put her into bed, say it’s sleep time, pull the door to, shut the stair gate and that’s it. Occasionally she’d get up once or twice but generally she’d fall straight to sleep. If she got up I’d leave her stood at the stair gate for 10 minutes then go up, not make eye contact or say anything, and put her back into bed. This is also what we do at bed time. Since Saturday, it has taken TWO HOURS of this to get her to nap?! I’ve considered dropping nap time all together but I really think that she still needs it. Has anyone had this happen and it be a phase that went as soon as it appeared or do I need to face the music?

I was assume it is time to drop the nap. You will need to bring bed time earlier and the first two weeks or so she will be grumpy on a night time.

I am amazed at a child who goes straight to sleep by themselves!
