Looking for advice really.
My 20month old ds has slept through (unless poorly) since he was 8 months old suddenly the last two nights he has been waking through the night, yesterday I ended up getting up with him at 4.20am and bringing him downstairs so that everyone could get to sleep. Once he was up he was fine with the exception of a snotty nose, he went back to bed for 40mins at 7am, had a 2hr nap between 11-1pm and 45mins late afternoon (I woke him up on that one as I didn't want him to have too long) he settled last night no problem at 7pm as usual but then from 12.30am-3.30am he was waking at least every half hour. At 3.30 was screaming til I picked him up so I took him into the spare room with me and we laid there til 5am all the time he was calm and settled but not sleepy. At 5am I put him back to his bed were he cried for less then 10 mins before falling asleep we had to wake him at 7am to take dh to work. I have put him down again for his nap now but don't know if I should wait until he wakes himself or go and get him after so long, what do you think? Normally he is in bed at 7pm wakes up at 7am when we take dh to work then goes back in his cot from 7.30 til 8.15am, naps 11am for an hour-ish and then another nap at 4pm were he may or maynot sleep for an hour (sometimes he just chatters not actually sleep)
God I know I am waffling but I know what I mean and I have hardly slept for the last two nights so please forgive me!!

could he be too warm, my lo has been disturbed for the last week or so in the early hours of the morning (between 1-3ish), dozing and winging on and off), last night on the advice of my mum I put him to bed in just a vest and a summerweight sleeping bag and he slept all night without a peep

Thanks for your replies, Thomas slept through last night although he did cry out a few times he settled himself back down. He also started with a cough yesterday afternoon and was coughing badly between 3-6am but it didn't seem to wake him although I was laid awake listening to him waiting for him to wake himself up so that I could give him some medicine!
