How to stop baby napping on me

My almost 8mo will only nap on me. She won’t let me transfer her to the cot where she sleeps at night. She is bf to sleep for both naps and night. Although she can be very drowsy but awake at night when I move her and this isn’t normally a problem.

Anyone got any tips for helping a baby take naps in a cot? I’m tired so it would be good to be able to ‘sleep when the baby sleeps’

TIA

The easiest way is to cuddle the baby in a light blanket or fleece when she feeds (make sure it goes between your body and hers), so when you are ready to transfer, there is no change in temperature.

The big sanity saver for me was safe co sleeping: if you both want to sleep in the daytime, why not together?

@TheABC thanks for the blanket idea. I do put her in a sleeping bag first but a blanket to go underneath her would probably help. Inthe last we have coslept for parts of the night and naps but now she is just too mobile. If I put her on the bed to feed she just starts crawling and playing. I am also worried she’ll crawl off the bed. I would love to consp if only she would let me! :(

Cosleeping is your easiest option. Feed to sleep lying down and put a video monitor on. One side of the bed needs to have a safety guard of be next to the wall, then slip away.
