Sleepyhead Weaning

Has anyone got any advice about how they managed to get their baby out of a sleepyhead into their cot? Our 5 month old is starting nursery next month and we'd like to get her out of it before then. We tried on the weekend and it wasn't very successful. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

We had this problem with our 6 month old , in the end I ended up putting him back in it but then started letting him nap on flat surfaces (the couch for example) during the day , our couch is one of those large lounging bed type corner sofas with no gap in the middle IFYSWIM so very safe. Then put him in a cot for naps without it then after a couple of days took it away at night.

Does he have any sort of comfort with him at night? DS doesn't have dummy so gave him a cuddly monkey to sleep with instead and this really settled him.

Sorry @firsttimebabybirther only saw this now! That sounds like a good idea. She does use a dummy and likes a particular soft toy so may try and use that instead

I actually took the outside of the sleepyhead out of the cover and just put that around him & gradually moved it further away from him so he didn’t feel so enclosed. Now he sleeps in a cot quite happily!
