When did yours drop 2hr afternoon sleep?

My LO (10ms) pretty reliably sleeps for 2 hrs in the afternoon, if he's at home (hardly sleeps at all his 2 days at nursery, but we won't worry about that). His morning nap sometimes happens and sometimes doesn't but the afternoon one is probably about 80% of the time and is nearly always for 2 or even 2 1/2 hrs. It's been this way for about 4 months.

I'm wondering whether it's so reliable that I could manage to cut down his time at nursery to 1 full day and 1 morning. If he continues to sleep for 2 hrs in the afternoon I can work from home and just squeeze my work hours into that day (and can make it up on other days if its just a blip). I would prefer him to spend less time at nursery because I think he finds a full day there a bit much (and it would save £600 a year). 3 mornings a week works out more expensive and wouldn't really work for me at work - I think I need a full day at work, although it might be possible

But I don't want to do it if he's about to stop having such a long and reliable nap. So if yours did have a patch of reliable 2hrs, when did they stop? I should say he is in no way a GF baby so I don't generally feel very secure in his habits. His days have pattern but not a lot of routine, if you see what I mean. His sleep at night is terrible, if that's relevant (waking at least twice most nights between 10.30 and 6.30)

I work from home so fit it into nursery and nap times too.

Ds3 goes to nursery for just 3 mornings a week (enough imo) and I get those full mornings to work. He used to sleep, reliably for a good 2 hours, before it was time to go on the school run, every afternoon and so I got another 10 hours a week work in that way.

However, he dropped that nap around Easter time I'd say - he would have been 2.7 then. I just found he wouldn't sleep at all so I've lost that 10 hours now. I've just got my mornings, evenings, bits of weekend if I need it. He starts school nursery in Sept pm so I'll have the 3 mornings and then 5 afternoons again.

So - in answer to your question he was 2.7.

ds is 2.6 and is showing no signs of dropping his 2-2.5hr afternoon nap, long may it continue. dd on the other hand stopped napping completely at 18 months, and by 5pm was an absolute nightmare.

Ds at a little over 3 and dd around now so at 2.9 and how sorry I am - loved my afternoon coffees in peace!

ds dropped his morning nap at 10 mos and had a long afternoon nap up until about 4 weeks ago (hes 3.5), and that was only because he started to wak in the night. He would still nap most days if we let him.

yes, actually, ds2 napped in the afternoon up until he was almost 4!

Ooh, this is sounding very promising! Anyone else? Anyone who's LO dropped it much earlier (even at 18 months would give me 6 months of less nursery)
