Any tips on which cot to buy?

My DD is 4 months and will be outgrowing her next2me crib and the next few months so I will be needing to buy a cot.

I'm an artist so i would preferably like a wooden one that is unvarnished so I can paint it. Don't wanna pay rediculous amounts but it doesn't need to be mega cheap...

Suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I don't know where to begin!

Now.. I best go to sleep myself haha!

We have an IKEA cot bed. It has been brilliant and seen us through 2 children from cot to bed and about to put ds3 into it. I think they do an unpainted version.

We had am IKEA singular which was great but I would warn against painting. At a certain stage most children like to gave a nibble on the cot whilst teething.

I got our wooden cot from gumtree for a grand total of £10 and then replaced the mattress. We weren't terribly artistic but we painted ours with chalk paint in quite a bright colour which I love. Second hand is a great way to go!

Thanks for the tips! I was gonna have a look on gumtree.. Would like to make use of a second hand rather than buying a brand new one if possible! If I paint it will be varnished after so that she doesn't nibble away at the paint.. 😊
