Newborn naps

Hi All,
New to posting here (just a lurker previouslyShock ).

I’m looking for advice/suggestions on getting my 6 week old to nap during the day. I also have a 4 yr old and NEVER got him to nap during the day, so really want to crack it this time!

Baby will sleep after a feed (on me) but usually only for about 30 mins then wakes up cranky. This happens 5/6 times a day. If I put him down he wakes pretty soon and screams. If I put him down awake he screams too. He seems unsettled and cranky during awake times too and these are quite brief!
He does however sleep well at night (11-6).

Any suggestions appreciated before I hit the gin again......

Mine was a clingon at that age, I resorted to the sling till he was a bit older, around 10-12 weeks I found I could put him down again, and he was very happy to be put down. Reflux and wind have also been an issue though, so sling helped.

I used a caboo but ergo are good. Connecta a bit big for this age. Moved to a boba around 8 weeks cos he's really big!

I've found white noise really helps my little one. I put him down when he's looking snoozy and it chills him out enough to go to sleep. He particularly likes the hoover sound.

Sound sleeper app is good.

We had the same issue. Totally normal for that age. But then we got a Sleepyhead and she slept in that like a dream and it worked instantly. It's the best baby item we've ever had. Smile
