Any advice or help for DH??

DS is 7.5 months. He has never been a great sleeper and feeds to sleep for every nap and overnight. I have left him for just a handful of evenings and the last two times he got very distressed. This was over a month ago so things may have changed but his sleep overall is worse at the moment.

I need to work outside the home one evening this week and a couple of evenings a week from October. This week I won’t be too late (8.30/9 - bed time is between 8 and 9). From October I will occasionally be later (9.30/10).

I have been back at work working part-time for a while now and DS is very happy with DH while I’m gone. DH is a very hands on dad. It’s just the evenings they find hard. I work from home a lot so most times can be home to help DS nap. DH has managed to get DS to nap the last couple of times I haven’t been home.

Is there anything I can say to help DH other than that he needs to find his own way to settle him? Do I need to end the feeding to sleep somehow?

My baby (20 months) has always fed to sleep. My husband has managed to get her to sleep using a sling x

@crazycatlady5 Thanks for the advice - it’s a good suggestion to try the sling!

I was in a rush so sorry it wasn’t very detailed! My DD has always refused bottles but there were times I had no choice but to leave her so he would try the sling, either in the bedroom with the light off and white noise or go for a walk. She is notoriously a light sleeper so he couldn’t put her down, he’d usually have to sit with her in the sling till I got home 😂
