Sidecar cot

Hi all. I’ve got a nearly 6mo DS Whom I’ve been bed sharing with since 2 months. Before that he would wake every half an hour or sometimes before my head even got the pillow again 😩 so he still wakes frequently but it’s much easier to nurse him back to sleep without us both being fully awake. Bought a Tutti Bambini and couldn’t put him in it, it was awful.

My question is has anyone taken the side off of a cot and attached it to the side of your bed? I’ve got a Rafferty space saver cot and a big oak bed if that makes any difference.

My baby is currently refusing all non-nursing naps so I can’t actually get anything done and haven’t tried the sidecar but I’m worried about gaps/aligning the mattresses? Also what to do when baby needs to be in bed without me as surely this isn’t safe?

Me and DH just need a bit of time not being pushed out of bed at night. (How does something so small take up a king size bed?!)

Thank in advance
