Early wake ups and screaming

I need some ideas, words of wisdom, advice!

My 6 month old is waking up early hours screaming and won't settle again. She's fine if she's being held but as soon as you put her down she starts screaming.

We've recently changed from bf to formula / bottle feeding. When she used to wake up in the night I'd just stick her on me and she'd feed and go back to sleep.

I'm well aware I've probably caused this problem as she now can't settle herself.

We've tried giving her a bottle and she may take 1 or 2 oz but not really be interested, and doesn't help her sleep. She won't take a dummy. Nappy is fine. Temp of room ok.

She has also just been put in her cot but she seems happy enough in it for naps and going down at night.

We're all getting a bit tired and grumpy now!

Do I just need to let her scream it out for a few nights?!

Please help!

Hi, the only thing I can think of is could it be wind? Maybe she's taking more air in now than when breastfed?
