Gro swaddle? Gro snug?

Has anyone used the gro swaddle and/or gro snug?

My first baby had a really strong startle reflex as a baby and I think this contributed to poor sleep. I'm now nearly at due date wirh baby number two and i have purchased a gro swaddle but upon opening it seems really likely to end up over babies face as it doesn't fasten in any way. Has anyone used this product successfully? I am considering a gro snug instead; has anyone used this?

Many thanks in advance for any tips!

I used a summer infant swaddleme original for DD ( and later the swaddleme wrapsack). I also had an ergobaby swaddle that we didn't really like.

I think the gro snug is fantastic, we used them when DS was teeny. I like that you can have arms swaddled or not - DS actually hated swaddling and slept with his arms up by his head.

The other one I like is called the Swaddle Up - looks a bit like a straight jacket but DS slept really well in it.

There's usually quite a few of all these things going second hand on eBay which is great as they are expensive new!

I've not used a Gro Swaddle but have used a Miracle Blanket which looks similar. As long as it is wrapped properly and is snug and baby is feet to foot in the cot it shouldn't end up over the face. We always had a little surplus material from the wrapping but it never went anywear near the baby's head - it was about tummy height.

That said, we mostly used a Gro Snug which are brilliant! Arms nice and snugly tucked in and definitely no worries about the head getting covered with any amount of wriggling.

Thanks all. I think I will try the gro snug instead of gro swaddle. Hoping this baby sleeps much better!

We used a grosnug for DD3 as she had a strong startle reflex. She's too big for it now and they don't do bigger sizes apparently (?) so we sometimes swaddle her in a sheet instead of she won't settle. I've got it worked out now and am queen of swaddling 😂

My DS had a very strong startle reflex. I started off using the grosnug but I found when he wriggled around it it all the material and the zip bunched up around the neck.
Then I moved on to the swaddleme summer wraps and I liked those much better, they did need re-wrapping often as I do have a wriggler.
Then I tried the love2dream arms up swaddles and I absolutely loved these, so easy to use and my DS liked them, didn’t feel like he was fighting with them.
I too recommend getting them second hand off eBay!
