Hey fellow mums & mums to be,

I am new to this site & could really really use some help! Hopefully I have put this in the right place.

Ok.. so my son is going to be 6 next month and I still can not get him to sleep through the night in his own room.

I work in events and so my hours have always been pretty anti social and although my family are very supportive and look after my son when needed it has not given my son much of a routine. He has never been a particularly good sleeper and as soon as we get a routine he falls out of it very quickly.

I have recently changed jobs to see if I can get a better routine for him as I know a lot of it is not his fault. My hours are not fantastic but it allows me to spend lots more time with him.

Despite my hope to have a better routine the last few weeks seem to have got worse. I have to lie with him to he falls asleep and he then is up 4/5 times a night with me having to get up for work at 5.30am.

I am exhausted to say the least!! I love the boy to bits but I can’t keep having no sleep. I barely know where I am half the time during the night coz I’m so over tiered.

Please ladies.... any help would be amazing!

what are his reasons for being up at night? my dd was the same, and we found getting her a www.argos.co.uk/product/4609029 helped. she liked the character, and liked the fact that she could see in the dark. we were also quite firm with her, you sleep here in your nice comfy bed, mummy and daddy sleep in their bed. You have Marshall here if you wake up. we will leave the door open downstairs, in the room we are in and she seemed to get better. it does take time, so i wish you all the best.
