My DD is 5 months old (almost) we have a routine which was working well... until now.
She literally hates going to sleep, she will try everything to not sleep, and that includes screaming like she is possessed by the demon. And this goes for every time she is due to sleep, so daytime naps and night time. Sometimes she will go to sleep easy at night time but that's like twice a week. I don't understand what's gone wrong, she was so good, only waking twice during the night. Napping in the day was always a bit hit or miss as she only sleep for about 20-30 mins 3 times a day. An hour if I'm lucky.
How do I get her to sleep easier, I've tried everything I can think of;
Waiting for signs of tiredness,
Bouncing/rocking her,
Cradling her,
Puttin her in her crib,
Puttin her in the pram,
In her bouncer, swing chair,
Being in a dark quiet room...
She will not take a dummy, never has. I've tried every brand. I once tried to let her cry it out but it didn't work, and I felt bad.
But it's driving me insane. It gets me so angry, she's a very alert and active baby and I try to tire her out but that doesn't work either.
My stress levels get so high when she is like this and I don't know how much more I can take. Also now she's started waking more at night, I spoke to the health visitor and she said I can start weaning her as maybe milk is not satisfying her anymore as she is a big baby. Will weaning help? Or is this just how she's going to be forever?
