For baby 2..

Would you buy a new moses basket mattress? Baby1 used it for 10weeks.

Would you buy a new cot mattress of you had a spare that Baby1 had just used at grandparents, so max 30 or so nights over a couple of years (no other grandchildren).

It's SIDs prevention. I would.

I did buy a new mattress and left it wrapped with the moses basket when i took it to Barnardo's charity shop (99.9% sure no more children)

Yes because they are so very cheap anyway.
