It's all gone wrong!

My 10 month dd has always been a terrible sleeper but this had slowly improved when she was around 8 months old and we had a couple of months of her only waking once or twice a night which I was very happy with. Then about a week and a half ago we all got norovirus. Ever since her sleep has been awful. Most nights she will do 2-4 hours at the start of the night then be up every 30-60 minutes until morning. Last night she did 4 hours then wouldn't sleep for the rest of the night unless she was on me.

Is this caused by her being ill? Will it solve itself? I'm unwilling to do controlled crying and would prefer not to sleep train at all yet. I just want to know if it's normal to happen all of a sudden. For info she is still bf and is also fighting her afternoon nap despite obviously needing it. She has 2 naps a day.

My DS dropped to 1 nap at 10 mo

Could still be result of being ill. Or teething.

Or just 8-10 mo sleep regression kicking in a bit late.

It will improve without sleep training. It has for us. And I still BF. It's not great every night but we get a solid chunk at start of night then 2 or 3 short wake ups which I can deal with. (14 mo)

Thank you! That fills me with hope. Fingers crossed she's out of this phase soon then.
