Moses basket: blankets AND sheets?

Hi guys

I'm expecting my first baby in 7 weeks and getting those last few bits. We've got a Moses basket (our room is too small for a crib or cot in with us). I've found fitted sheets for over the mattress but wondering what other layers people use.

I saw something that said a flat sheet then one or two cellular blankets. I've got some cellular blankets but am really struggling to find flat sheets small enough for a Moses Basket.

I am currently going through a bit of a "I'm gonna be a crap mum" panic so would really appreciate some advise on how to layer the bedding. I can't find much advise out there.

TIA xxx

I just put the blanket over DS or swaddled him.

He seems to have coped.

AND YOU ARE NOT GOING TO BE A CRAP MUM!

You can get really soft fleece blankets, I used one of those to wrap around the baby, then a cellular blanket as needed. There aren't any rules. Good luck with the new arrival

We used pillowcases as sheets as the sheets were really difficult to find at reasonable prices. Just pop the mattress inside the pillowcase and then tuck it in when you put the mattress back in the moses basket. This meant we had loads so on the nigts when you have a poo explosion, then several vomiting episodes and then a bit more poo, we had plenty of quick easy changes to do.

As for extra layers, we used the sleep sacks, we had some long sleeves for winter and the vest style thinner ones for summer.
