Hi, after some advice!

Once asleep, my 4 month old is great, but getting her to sleep takes forever.

She takes up to 2 hours to get to sleep each night (she needs me to feed her to sleep or rock her, she won’t settle alone or with my DH) and I’m fairly sure it’s because she is over tired by bedtime (8.30pm). I just cannot get her to nap in the afternoon. The morning is fine, she will nap about 90 mins after waking and then again 2 hours after that for about 30 mins each time. Then it’s just all over the place. Today for example she napped for 45 mins at about 4pm and she has just gone down now, which means she has been awake for almost 5 hours!!! Any tips or ideas as to how to get her to nap and then settle better in the evening?? What do other people’s schedules look like??

Thank you

My little one went to bed around 10/11pm at 4 months old, she would just snooze downstairs at the breast until then - she didn’t have an earlier bedtime until about 6/7 months - that might be your issue. There is also a sleep regression at 4 months.

Every sympathy but not much advice - both of mine slept worse around 4 months and then it improved again. Look up sleep regression at 4 months on here. You must be so tired - it will pass in the end
