Can a baby sleep too much?

I'm sorry that is going to sound like I'm bragging, I really am not. My 14 month of DD has taken to sleeping until 10/10:30 in the morning, she is currently still fast asleep in her cot. She's got a bit of a cough and has just got over a cold albeit a small one, so I'm assuming this is her body trying to recover? I've woken her a few times in the morning when I've been concerned she's gonna mess up our plans for the day, but I hate waking her up I feel so mean. Is this "normal" or should I be concerned? Thanks.

If you try and rouse her would she wake up ?
If you can't wake her up then that is a reason to be alarmed

When did she go to bed ?

samatamfabahaba · 19/08/2018 11:24

She wakes up no problem! She goes to bed at 6pm and is asleep by 6:30/7 when she's finished charting to herself and playing with her teddy.

Depends if she naps in the day!

samatamfabahaba · 19/08/2018 11:39

Yep, she still has a two hour nap during the day, sometimes two naps for a total of three hours! She won't have two naps today obviously, but she'll have a two hour one around 1:30 ish.

That's a lot of sleep 18 hours in 24 is v unusual for her age
Is she like this everyday ?

samatamfabahaba · 19/08/2018 12:11

Not everyday, for the last 6/7 days. Yesterday she woke up early, 8am but the two days before that it's was 9:30 and then 10:15 when I woke her up. She's always slept a lot to be honest.
