Change in sleep behavior

I have a (nearly) 4 week old boy who, the in the last couple of days has become a bit of a nightmare. I'm combination feeding on demand but he's not sleeping during the day/at night after feeds like he did for the first 3 weeks. Im conscious he's becoming over tired which is why he's grouchy. We've tried taking him for walks, ensuring the room is dark and bathing but he's extremely restless and doesn't want to sleep! What can I do? The sleepless nights/days are becoming unmanageable!

Have you contacted your health visitor?

Yes, I've spoken to my HV who has advised it's normal for a child his age but I'm not convinced!

It honestly is normal newborn behaviour. My DS slept and napped so well for a newborn but at about 5 weeks it all changed- he suddenly become so alert. How much a he now sleeping during the day or at night?

Apologies if you have but try persevering - I found my baby would always fall asleep in the sling or pram (eventually!) and start trying to get him to sleep before you think he needs it.
