4 month old sleep regression... help!

I have a 4 month old baby boy who until just over a week ago slept through the night 9/10 until 6am.
The past 2 weeks he was showing signs of wanting to go to bed earlier, be coming extremely tired and inconsolable about 8pm so I would give him a bottle and put him to bed. He was stirring about 4am but wouldn't actually wake up. Fast forward to this week we put him in his cot as he was getting too big for his moses basket and that's where sleep ends. Last night I was up at 12,2,3:30,4,5 and 6. He doesn't want a bottle through the night as I have tried he just wants to be held back to sleep. He is literally screaming and getting himself in such a state that I can't just leave him to whinge or try and settle him without picking him up.
Also the last 2 nights he has actually been falling asleep at 6 and then I'm having to wake him for a bottle but again he just screams. Tips advice please.

What's going on with day time naps?

Sounds like they need a tweak

Day time naps some days he's sleeping 2/3 hours a time others day napping for 40 mins and only able to stay awake for 30 mins. Yesterday he had his 2pm bottle, refused his 6pm bottle, tried again at 7 wouldn't have it, fell asleep, tried him again at 10 as he was still sleeping wouldn't take it and slept until 2am where he finally had a bottle, 13 hours after his last one.
I just have no idea what is going on...

Oh and he then went straight back to sleep until 7am after the feed.

4 month is prime time for regression as at about this age the way I which they sleep changes in their brains permanently. They have to actively link sleep cycles. It’s nothing you’re doing wrong. Baby sleep isn’t always linear it can go up and down. how does baby go to sleep now?

I made a note of everything all day yesterday, through the day he had a total of 4 and half hours naps. 24oz through the day. He then went to bed at 7:30 and slept until 6am where he had a bum change and back to sleep until 7:30. I had to go in twice in the night just to put his dummy back in. So yesterday we definitely made progress.
I had read about sleep regression so thought it was that but at the same time we made the transition from moses basket to cot so I think that had unsettled him as Well being away from me. Hopefully we stick to this routine and we nail it.
Thank you for you're response x
