My little one sleeps from 9pm-4.30am without stirring in her moses and transferred into her cot when we go up to bed. However the problem im having is she wont sleep during the day time for more than ten mins without waking crying. I rock her off to sleep (as she wont fall asleep on her own in cot she will cry and then eventually scream the house down even with me gently stroking her soothing her and white noise playing)once asleep i place her down whether thats in the pram moses cot or swing chair and within 10mins shes awake crying im stuggling to get housework or dinner cooked etc has anybody come across this and os there something else i could be doing? Im guessing shes stirring and realizing shes not being held and freaks out but i cant hold her all day and shes sleeps the whole night in the same cot without waking?

My 7 week old is the same! Fine at night but won't settle in her bassinet during the day. She used to be a great day sleeper up until last week. Have you tried a front pack? At least then you can still get stuff done round the house. Good luck!

Mine was the same, I held him for all naps unless in the pram or car, untill he was about 15 weeks. It’s totally normal newborn behaviour and tbh I don’t know anyone who had babies that were happy to nap when placed down in the first months. I sling was my absolute lifesaver. Wouldn’t have been able to survive without it in the beginning. Means you can get things done that you need to. Other than that, enjoy the newborn cuddles. Take it as an opperitunity to rest and watch Netflix etc. Don’t worry about housework and just make easy food, it’ll all change before you know it! Flowers

Have you tried not putting her down? For the first 6 months of life my little one was held for all naps except those in the buggy or carrier. Look up the 4th trimester and it’ll help you understand x

hi we are having same with 7wo.She will only nap on me which is lovely for cuddles but i was worried i was making her overtird as she does appear to be especially on an evening before bed, though overnight isn't too bad.
