8 mo DS is still BF and having some solids through the day.

His nights are almost routine and I can't seem to find a way to get him to sleep better.
Here's what happens:

  • 6pm bath time with DS1 then into PJs and grobag, fed and sleepy but awake put down in cot for 7pm
  • this is a recent thing but usually wakes for no apparent reason and sits up and cries anytime around 7.45-8.15ish and I usually go in give him his dummy back and lay him down sometimes it happens again around 9pm sometimes doesn't.
  • awake for feed at 10pm and straight back down
  • sometimes awake for feed at 12.30-1am and back down sometimes sleeps through until 2am.

here's where it gets tricky, he wakes up about 2am and has another feed after which I put him back down then from about 2.30am he keeps waking every 15-20 mins, I try to not give in and comfort feed so I always get up and put him back down and put his dummy back in and it goes on until I give in and give him another feed which is what he seems to be after most of the time which is usually around 4am.
He then sleeps until around 6-6.30 am then is awake for the day.
Last night between 2-4am I must have been up 10+ times and he seemed quite wide awake at one point. I've had enough.

What am I doing wrong?
How can I help him and myself to sleep better?

I'm looking at switching him onto formula soon, could that help?
