Pantley pull off successes?

Just wondering if anyone has had any success with this?

Little one is just under 7 months. I can now unlatch him and he'll lay his head on my chest and be rocked, and possibly even go into the cot very slightly awake... but I can't seem to move this any further forward. If I try and put any more space between feeding and sleep (feeding him in our room then moving to his room to rock him, or reading a story in between for example), or if anyone else tries to rock him to sleep, all hell breaks loose. So I'm still having to feed him directly before every sleep.

I'm not enjoying breastfeeding him any longer (poor latch, biting, among other things), plus I'll need to be away from home for a few evenings / naptimes soon so someone else needs to be able to settle him. Just wondering if anyone had any hints and tips on how to keep progressing with stopping feeding to sleep?

Thanks!
