Moving DS from Amby hammock to cotbed advice please?

I'm planning to move 15wk DS from amby hammock in our room into cotbed in his own room soon. I'm worried that it will be a nightmare as he loves his hammock and seems to need motion to fall asleep -he hates napping in his cot. Has anyone else done this andwhat was your experiebce like?

He's just starting sleeping through (breastfed) and am reluctant to start messing up his sleep patterns but also looking forward to having our room back and to him having space of his own -I suspect we'll all sleep better in the long run and I'm back at work soon.

also -is the best bedding for a cot a grobag? and is it ok to leave toys in the cot with him at night for comfort -and what's a cot numper for -do they need one or are they a bad idea at this age -it's all so confusing to me at the moment and I want to get it right.

Hi, why do you have to move him? Can't he sleep in the hammock in his own room? That's what I did with my last baby. She's a big lass. I got a heavy duty spring and she stayed in the hammock, in her own room until she was a least 8 months old.
I too was dreading the move to cotbed, but actually it turned out to be bo prob for her, but she is a very good sleeper!

I thought about it but he's a big baby and I thought it would be easier to do the move now than when he gets older and also though it would make sense to do both new things at once -new room, new bed.

He's a good sleeper at night but hates napping in his cot in the day tho is happy to be in there at other times.

He's very alert and my attempts at using a mobile etc to settle him haven't worked he just gets excited and chats away to it.

he might take to his own room more readily if he has his familiar hammock with him??

I think grobags are perfect for the cot. You can get really thin ones for this warm weather too. I bought a cot bumper to make the room look nice but didn't use it until he was 6 months for safety. Now he loves it and always falls asleep cuddled up to it.

id change one thing at a time, maybe.

cot bumper a v good idea if you can secure it properly to bars i dont think dangerous... ds3 does sometimes chuck himself about in his sleep, so bumper softens the blows and stops him waking himself up from his exertions!

love grobags. ds1 and 3 use/d them... ds2 hated em. and other alternative is fleecy sleep suit/romper things to go over PJ's or vesty thing... instead of a grobag or blanket... for wriggliest baby in world (ie ds3) he seemed to get mightily pissed off with getting tangled up in his grobag... tho he is fine in them now...
