COMFORTER ADVICE

so my little girl is nearly 6 months next week and she's not sleeping so great in the night.

I'm thinking about weaning her off the dummy as I'm forever putting it back in does anyone have any suggestions for that or is it best cold turkey?

Also she has a comforter now as soon as she has a comforter she goes sleep! But as soon as she's nodded off and I remove it she wakes up! Is she old enough to have a comforter unsupervised obviously just don't want her smothering herself!!

Mine is the same age. I am not giving it to him unsupervised as he doesn't roll over very often and certainly not in his sleep
He couldn't pull it off his face if it went over him. I give it to him for pram and car seat sleeps as it goes under the straps so won't go over his face, but definitely not for in the cot.
