Too busy to settle?

Hi

7 month old DS has always been a bit challenging to get to sleep both at night and at nap times, he often settles well when fed and left to squirm on our bed. We have a fairly loose routine of bath bottle story bed going on, although sometimes we struggle to stick to it.

Anyway, recently he has learnt how to roll over both ways and make many sounds (including a high pitched shriek - yay for children!) and is attempting to crawl. He loves rolling that much I struggle to dress him and change his bum, sometimes he needs pinned down or wedged between cushions to feed him. Now I can't safely leave him on my bed surrounded by cushions - how the hell am I meant to get him to sleep?!

He's not a fan of his cot - I'm sure he sees it more of a play pen... He uses his feet and legs to do wall of death around the cot!

The good points are once he's asleep he stays asleep all night and if he wakes in the night he will self soothe back to sleep

Any help would be much appreciated before he drives me round the bend GrinWine

No advice but bumping for you and following with interest... my 6 month old was learning to self settle but started crawling at 5 months and is now cruising and self settling has gone out the window! We've fallen back into feeding / rocking to sleep. He's up several times in the night too Hmm

Hopefully someone will be along with some useful advice soon!
