Using a travel cot

So my girl has out grown her Moses basket. Her crib doesn't fit in my bedroom. Tonight I've put up the travel cot for her to try. It's a second hand one, in good condition and I washed it all thoroughly. What I want to know, has anyone used a travel cot long term? Is it ok to use until I move her into her own room? She is 11 weeks old, if that makes any difference. Opinions pls....first time mum worry!

I'm bumping for you, as my dc are grown up now, and I don't want to give you outdated advice Smile

I think its fine but the advice would be to replace the mattress with a proper one for full back support etc as the mattresses that come with travel cots are intended for short term, every so often use really

My son is 5 months and we have just moved him into the travel cot in our room. I wiped it down with baby antibacterial wipes and then bought a new proper mattress, waterproof cover and fitted sheets... He did use the regular travel cot mattress for first few days as new mattress said it needed to air got 48 hours before use..
Check out the size of your travel cot though. I ended up with a cot mattress and it is the perfect size whereas the travel cot mattress would have been a little small I think

One last question, where did you get the mattress from? I have a Graco travel cot and it has different dimensions to the ones I've seen online x

I got mine from smyths. Ended up getting a 120 by 60 cot mattress as it was best fit

I got a mattress enhancer from John Lewis
