Sleep routine- 11 weeks old

So I'm very very lucky, my baby girl sleeps through the night. 11-8 most nights. She has started to want to go to sleep a bit earlier this past week. I've been taking her up about 8/9 doing bath, story, feed, clean nappy and let her fall asleep in my arms.

The question is, now her bed time is creeping to 8/9pm is it safe to let her sleep upstairs for an hour or two while i watch a bit of telly down stairs? I have a angle care baby monitor but don't use the mat as she is still in her Moses basket.....although not for long as she is growing fast. The travelcot will be used soon.

You hear all the scare stories of SIDS, I'm terrified of leaving her alone!

What do you think guys? Sorry first time Mum Blush

Hi 👋
My DD is 11 weeks too and her sleep routine is; bath, boob, bed starting at 7pm.
That's when she starts getting tired and grumpy and unsettled so that's when we start the routine for bed.
When we put her to bed she goes up into her bedside crib in our bedroom and we have the monitor on. I'm still trotting up and down the stairs to check her despite the monitor telling me she's fine! But I think that's only natural. We've only started putting her up there in the past 2-3 weeks though. Before that she slept in the lounge with us, in her Moses basket.

I'm sure to get flamed for this, but I put my eldest into his own room at 11 weeks.

By the time I had youngest, I had to let him sleep in a different room from 6 weeks old because his brother kept waking him up.

My boy is 11 weeks and this past week he has started sleeping 9-6. I've started putting him in on his own in our room with the monitor and then I come to bed about half 10. He sleeps in a next to me crib. I'm first time mum and worry too!! Xx

My daughter has been sleeping in her own room from 8 weeks old in her cot. We have a monitor to check on her etc. We do have a babymoov mattress though which has made me feel a bit more relaxed about it as she can't move off it but I'll always worry about her. She's now nearly five months old, sleeps through from 9-9 and gets herself to sleep :) I do believe that's through having a good routine & being in a quiet, dark room x

It's luck! You have been blessed with a good sleeper (for now at least). Some babies are just poor sleepers and no amount of routines or dark rooms will change that.

OP it is up to you to assess the (very small) risk of SIDS. I used to just go up to bed with DD at that age as having my phone/iPad on didn't bother her, might be an option for you.
