Who's baby/toddler falls asleep on their own?

Interested to know how everyone gets the baby/toddler to sleep?
We put our 15 month old in his cot awake after bath, book and milk and then have to sit next to his cot until he is asleep enough to leave the room else he will stand up and get upset when he realises you've left the room.
I've heard it's quite common to have to stay near your LO when he's dropping off but just curious to hear how others put their LO's to bed 😊

There was a time when I honestly thought my baby would never be able to do this! But after persistence with the routine, gentle sleep training and resisting the temptation to feed to sleep, we did get there in the end. I think around 8 months.

My 18 month old still needs me to go to sleep. They’re all different and I don’t think it can be ‘taught’. I also just think it is a normal part of parenting to help your child go to sleep (if they need it) but somewhere along the line we have decided it is a massive inconvenience.

My eldest is 3 and has only just started sleeping by herself. We do bath, story, cuddle and then she goes to sleep in her bed, by herself.
My youngest is nearly 2 and is still fed/cuddled to sleep and is showing no signs of that changing anytime soon.
