Dd2 is now 10 months old. She's a shit sleeper. I know I need to do some kind of sleep training to help her to self settle, but when is the best time? Obviously at the moment it's ridiculously hot. Also she's just picked up a runny nose.
I had been trying to get her to follow a 234 sleep pattern before school holidays. It didn't work out exactly (sometimes it was more like 334 by the time I persuaded her to do this). To get her to nap during the day I'd put her in the pram and push her round the garden. If I have to be anywhere around a scheduled nap time I'm screwed as she has given up sleeping in the car - she's too busy being nosy and looking out the window.
I think she's overtired but she'll only settle with me. Laying on my bed, in dark and quiet. Or being pushed in the pram. As soon as you try to move her she wakes. DH attempted to give her a bedtime bottle tonight instead of me breastfeeding her. Within 5mins she was hysterical, coughing then vomited everywhere.
What would you do? Try and enforce a rigid routine to ensure she's getting enough daytime sleep? Just got for it with sleep training?
I didn't really use to have a problem with her sleeping in our bed. It's big enough and it meant I actually got some sleep. But she's becoming a very fidgety sleeper really which means DH and I get continuously kicked etc so we're not getting a good night in.
Sorry. I've just realised this post is all over the place. I'm sleep deprived. In case you can't tell. I'm just not sure what to do to make all of our lives easier right now. We all need sleep
