Hi,
I recently posted about giving up with sleep training, which I still kind of am. But not ruling it out for when I feel he's ready for another round. (he's currently getting 2 molars and the heat is UNBAREABLE at night!)
I saw an osteopath this week on the advice of a family member (they works there). In the hope that he might be able to help my little one hormones or calm within his body. I was hoping for a bit of magic! But haha, no.
Anyway, the osteopath said that breastfeeding is the main part of our problem. And whilst i'm aware its habit he wants to get up in the night for boob, i've just not had the willpower or strength to do another round of essentially sleep training, its exhausting and mentally draining, i've done 3 rounds of ST so far to no avail..
The only good thing that has come from our attempts is, he doesn't require milk to fall asleep when I put him to bed. We do milk before bath, stories, cuddles and laying down awake. (9/10 he will fall asleep on his own once i've left) So I know this is a good start, it's just during the night, he is like a different child.
This time is more for weaning him off boob in order for longer sleep periods. During the day, he very very rarely has any now (for the last 2 weeks he's not been bothered about day time milk). He has gone down to, some at wake time, before bedtime routine and then 3-4 times during the night. If I don't give him milk when he wakes in the night he goes ballistic.
I've read I shouldn't go cold turkey with it. So i'm happy to keep morning and evening feed.
Has anyone got a plan or advice of weaning little one off breastmilk during the night? (He is 16 months)
Thanks all x
