My 4 month old sleeps in his room in his cot....with my partner on a pull out a bed in the same room while I’m still in the bedroom on my own. Does anyone else’s lo sleep in a different room to them before 6 months? The reason for it is because I am the worlds lightest sleeper and my lo fidgets and shuffles about all night long. He only wakes properly once or twice for a feed in 12 hours and usually ends up in the bed with me at some point but by the point I’ve had such A restful night and feel great having such a good amount of sleep. My partner sleeps like a log and only wakes once lo wakes for a feed (crying) so that’s why we decided he would sleep in the room with him. Is it a risk for sids if I’m not in the room or is it ok as long as someone is with him until 6 months?

Totally fine. As long as someone’s in the room with baby for all sleeps untill 6 months then you are meeting the SIDS guidelines. Sounds like an ideal situation for you both resulting in plenty rest :)

What a brilliant idea! As previous poster has said, it doesn’t have to be you in the room with baby, just that the baby shouldn’t be in a room on their own. It sounds like a great set up!
