Lack of bed time routine

Hey there 😊

My 10 month old little boy will fall asleep on me at night but as soon as I try to move him from me to the cot he wakes up and starts crying, it is now taking 2 hours to settle him when he's in the cot. He was doing great and in bed by 7pm but then the dreaded teething started and completely wrecked the routine. He has holes in his heart so we don't like to leave him crying for too long because of the strain on his heart.

I know he's got one up on me but are there any miracle workers that have any suggestions? Halo

Thank you in advance from one very tired mummy xx

Give yourself a break, your doing fine.

What was your routine? What is it now?
What time do you want him down for the night?

Start 40-60mins before. Try to be calm and unhurried.
I worked with the baby whisperer method of picking up and calming then putting back down. It can take a long time but it works eventually.
You may need to tag team with dad but keep at it. You’re not leaving them crying but you’re not giving in either.

Good luck

It was bath bottle then bed and I still try to stick to that but he has none of it now lol.

I aim to get him down and asleep for about half 7 but by the time he's actually fell asleep can be anywhere from between 8 and 10 last night I think he settled at about 10:30

I always give him his bath between half 6 and 7 then go from there with his bottle and story time. His dad works mainly late shifts so it's mainly down to me but we do tag team it on the rare occasion he's done a different shift or on his days off.

I'll try your method see if that works 😊

Thank you x
