Getting earlier bedtime

Hi everyone. I have a 3 month old and from talking to people we are very lucky. From about 7 weeks old he would go down at about 11pm and have a 5/6 hour block then wake for 15 min feed and then go back down for another couple of hours. Gradually he's started going to bed a bit earloer and we can now put him down around 10pm. This morning he didnt wake up until 6! But I'm struggling to get his bedtime earlier. I often breastfeed him to sleep or rock and me and partner are usually in bedroom as well as it's when we go to bed. So his routine is based on us going up and he's already asleep when we transfwr him which Ive just been reading not to do. So any advice would be greatly appreciated

Keep doing what works for you.

Don't read the sleep training what your baby should do type stuff unless that's what you want to do.

We have found that as DS has got older he has dropped a feed and this is when he now goes to sleep earlier. Might not be the same for you if breastfeeding but DS now 5 months. Last bottle can be anything from 7.30-8 and then we aim for bed after this but it can sometimes take an hour to get him to sleep. I was stressing that he should be in bed by 7pm but just being a bit more flexible and it suits us atm. Can definitely tell from 7pm onwards he gets whiny now whereas when he was younger he would easily go until 10pm.

I could have written your post a couple of weeks ago.
Last couple of nights however, he has gone down at 8.30 with his dummy. We have just tried to do it slightly earlier each night. I also started going up from 7, and feed him in my bed to signal bedtime. Then was able to get him to his cot asleep. The times have got earlier and earlier when he has gone, so now hopefully he will stick to 8.30 for a while!
