9mo acting like a newborn again - regression tips

DS is 9mo and has decided to not self settle 90% of the time. He wants holding/feeding to sleep then wakes every time hes put down.....aargh. Last few nights we are back to hourly or 40min wake ups.

I know there's a regression and there are others on here struggling too....

So.... tips please....give in to the feeds and cuddles or be firm and sleep train??

When he cries don't always pick him up. Put a hand on his chest and shush/sing to him. Can you use your other hand to rock the cot a little? If not can you rock his body without actually picking him up (i.e. with the hand that's on his chest).

At 9months I'd be strict. And start thinking about sleep training. Don't go to him if he is only wingeing. Only go to him when he's really crying.

We did the opposite. Just took him into bed with us when he became more aware. Would have hated to think he was lying there knowing we were ignoring his sobs 😳

Have a very secure and loving placid 3 year old now 😄

Yeah I've tried shushing but he waves his arms about hysterical. Tiredness doesnt help....

Will have another crack.

As soon as i pick him up he stops so i know hes being a pickle.

I'm reluctant to put him in our bed. I'm just knackered to be honest. Havent had more than 2 hours unbroken sleep for over a month. The hear didnt help.
Theres defo some anxiety going on as hes clingy.in the day too.

Tricky!
