Anyone else’s 4 month old a catnapper?

I know 4 months is a trying time. I feel like we’ve gone through the regression at 3 months as I went through 4 weeks of hell of him waking hourly through the night.
Now he sleeps 11/12 hours with 1 or 2 feeds in the night. But his naps during the day are so frustrating!
He basically either feeds or rocks to sleep. Without fail he will wake after half an hour. If I’m lucky if I keep persevering with the dummy or rubbing his nose he may go to an hour but generally he will not have more than 45 minutes per nap. He also fights it so badly. If I aim for the every 2 hour awake time I have to start an hour before I actually want him to go to sleep. I’m gradually trying to get him to nap in his cot for at least one nap (usually the morning one) during the day. He will go down fine, but again I have to stay by his cot constantly putting the dummy in, rubbing his nose etc.
He’s totally different on a night. Will have a bottle and go straight to bed, he’ll even settle himself. He may stir a couple of times but that’s him until 4am when he wakes for a feed. He’s breastfed during the day and for the night feeds and just has that one formula before bed. Not sure if that makes any difference.
Is anyone else’s 4 month old like this?

My little one turned 5 months last Friday. Quite similar to you in the sense that a few weeks ago would only cat nap during the day. Even now at least 2 or 3 of his naps are only 30-45 mins long. He usually starts to stir and if I catch him quick enough I can get him back and stretch the sleep but rarely. Always used to go down relatively easy at night time but the past week he is starting to fight it but I’m hoping it’s partly due to the heat. I find that we find a way he likes to sleep for a few weeks and then it’s like he realises what’s coming so fights it. Currently only sleeps during the car seat(lie flat) being rocked/white noise playing or being held and rocked. I have given up trying to get him in the cot because I was wasting so much time for him to only get a 20min nap. He will then completely surprise me sometimes by either just falling asleep on his changing mat or today I put him down on his play mat to go and get his milk and 5 mins later he had just fallen asleep! I suppose I don’t have any real advice for you other than maybe adjusting your awake times? I know I have to aim at the 1.15 to 1.30 mark to begin the process but sometimes he goes way past this if he is fighting it. It might just be reassuring for you that your not alone?
