Cosleeping?

My son will be 5 weeks on Wednesday, and so far everything has been going well. He's a very relaxed little baby and hardly ever cries, but he won't sleep away from me at night! The plan was originally to have him in a Moses basket, but that didn't work out so my Mum gave me her co-sleeper thing (her youngest has just grown out of it) that attaches onto the side of bed... but that doesn't work either. He's been sleeping by my side every night for the past 3 weeks, which is easy for breastfeeding during the night but I'd feel more comfortable knowing he was in the co-sleeper rather than in bed with me and DP. We keep the duvet at our waist and it's really warm so LO just sleeps in a long-sleeved vest but I'd like to start trying for the co-sleeper. Any tips? He'll wake after about 5 minutes of being put down. Confused

Only to embrace the co-sleeping! My little one would only sleep like that until she was about 3 months and then as she got too big she started to sleep a bit further away from me in the bed. The snuzpod that we bought was the biggest waste of money because she never slept in it.

I think some babies just need to cosleep at first and will go in a crib or cot when they're ready...sorry but I'm not sure there is a magic answer, especially when they are so young!
