3yo DD (will be 4 in October) and we have a few issues.

When she was 2 we took the dummy away and since then I have had to stay with her while she falls asleep. Then she will wake in the night (no set time) and come in with me. At which point DH goes into the spare room.

She hasn't woken up in the morning in her own in months. I'm knackered because I don't sleep properly when she's in with me.

Added to the mix it's summer so I'm sitting next to her bed at bedtime until 9pm some nights. She's just not tired despite being physically worn out. She's wired. It's dark in her bedroom but she can hear the birds and just tell it's still daylight. Sorry for a ramble. ConfusedBrew

Pointless saying the dummy was worth keeping?!!
Star chart? Promise of a treat?
Leave her with dh and you go into her bed?!

If I ever have another they will give up the dummy when they want. Not because I was worried what others thought!!!!

Tried leaving her with DH but she follows me. If I'm not there at all (away) she stays with DH fine though Hmm

So so many threads on here about the panic regarding giving them up!! Ds slept through at 8 months - 12 hours a night. No way was I getting rid of that magic dummy!! A couple of months ago at 3.6 his had holes in and I said it wasn't worth buying a new one as he was a big boy at nursery now.
He never shed a tear and still doing his 12 hours!!
Dd had hers til she was 7 - only for bed and was well hidden incase friends came !! She has perfect teeth and never has speech issues.
As long as its just for sleep from around a year ime /o I have had zero negative issues.
