When did your dc move into a proper bed?

With dc2 on the way I'm wondering if I should get dc1 (currently 22 months) in a normal bed before dc2 arrives (in November) there is no real rush apart from wanting to sort bedrooms out, but dc2 will be in with us to at least 6 months anyway. Just trying to gage when others seem to make the transition? Also, did it lead to you getting woken up ridiculously early? (Dc1 usually wakes up and has a play/sing in her cot til 07:30-08:00 when we go in).
Interested to hear your experiences - thanks

DS was 3. I know thats late but he was always a great sleeper in his cot. When he got his bed he was out constantly and took ages to fall asleep.

Dd is 21 months and I really dont think I want to transition her anytime soon

We never did that. Just bought another double so DH went in with the older one (then 2 years old) not long before new baby arrived. After about 20 months, we switched so I could night wean, and I went in with the older one who has slept like a log since about 3.5 years.
Also we predicted a double would be preferred in the future when the older one grows into a teenager so we won't have to upsize!

DS was 22 months. We have twin beds where one folds under the other so we can pull it out and he has a ‘step’. We use a baby dan bed guard. He’s never been the greatest sleeper so can’t comment on that but he’s never seemed unhappy not having his cot anymore

6 months when I decided to cosleep. I think she was about 20 months when we moved her into her own room. She wakes up less now at 25 months but I think it is just because she has the hang of self settling durring the night but not at bedtime. She still wakes up and one of us often hops in with her and regularly at weekends one of us naps with her.
