5 month old difficult to put down at night

My 5 month old has always been a good sleeper and in many ways he still is. He has only woken once in the night from 2-12 weeks then started sleeping through from 12 weeks to about 18-19 weeks. He is back to waking once in the middle of the night a few times a week but all very manageable.

However recently getting him to sleep has become an ordeal. We have a bedtime routine of bath at 6.45pm - then bottle, story (basically keeping him upright for 15 mins) and bed. However once he has had his bottle it is lots of screaming and crying for 1-2 hours.

He naps about 3 times a day, 45 minutes at a time (sometimes a little longer). I just not sure how to help him. Any advice is welcome.

Do you think he might still be hungry? I think there is a growth spurt at around 6 months.

I’m having the same problem with my 6 month old at the moment. He used to go down fine and sleep all night but he cries when I put him down. He’s also started feeding again through the night which he hasn’t done in a long time. Maybe it is a growth spurt!
