Refusing dummy now not settling!!

Hi everyone

My dd turned 1 last week and up until last week had a dummy when sleeping. She has never been a great sleeper usually wakes at least twice at night but was easily settled back to sleep. 2 weeks ago she got 2 new top teeth and since then has completely rejected her dummy! I was actually glad thinking I will just keep it from her now but it is now taking up to 2 hours to get her asleep where before it would take 10-15 mins!

She goes in her cot after her bath milk and storytime as usual but now she rolls around sits up laughing and then after a while gets frustrated and starts to cry to the point where she is inconsolable! Its driving me mad. We cant do control crying she gets so upset when I leave she always makes herself sick so I always sit next to her cot silently until she falls asleep. It obviously was fine when it only took 10 mins but now I feel my whole night is getting her to sleep.

Any tips or advice would be really appreciated!!

If she's only just cut her top two teeth, she's probably got the bottom two pushing through as we speak. Quite possibly the next four too, given her age.

So I'd suspect all of your problems come Fownhope to teething pain and discomfort.

Keep giving the dummy, don't take it away now. Plus loads of extra tlc and cuddles for the pain. Maybe some paracetamol or ibuprofen if it's really bad.
