Does developmental progress interrupt sleep?

So my 7 1/2 month old has been through the mill a bit since birth. She’s still being treated for severe silent reflux and CMPA. Thank god, finally, she has settled much better and was sleeping really well.

The last week or so, she’s been waking up in weird positions in the cot but this hasn’t bothered her so much as it has me; then last night, we had to go in to her room multiple times because she was on her hands and knees crying (while asleep).

We’ve noticed she’s been desperately trying to crawl during the day but she hasn’t managed to get on all fours awake yet. I know the heat might be disturbing her too.

Is this normal?

TIA

Very normal. Sometimes their little brains can’t switch off when they are learning new skills and bed time seems to be a prime time for practising. It’s a phase and it will pass x

Thanks so much for your reply. I really hope it does pass. It’s a bit unnerving seeing your baby more mobile asleep than awake. X
