settling to sleep

My DD is just 2 and has always been a bad sleeper, but at the mo is just about sleeping through. The problem is she won't settle for sleep despite relaxing routine etc. She never settles without yelling for a while, we end up just going out and leaving her to cry cos there's nothing that seems to help. Any suggestions?

Same for my 2 yr DS. The only thing that works at the moment (whilst he's screaming for more cuddles in his cot to prolong bedtime) is to say "I'll either walk out of the room and leave to stand there crying or you can kiss me goodnight and snuggle down". It works as he doesn't want to stand crying for ages as he knows I won't go back in.But same as your DD for not relaxing etc. He sometimes has a book to look at in the cot then puts it down and lies down himself but that's kind of stopping now.
