Blanket for cot?

Hi there.

Might seem a stupid question this, but...

We have made the reletively successful transition from moses basket to cot last night for our 13 week old. Great sleep!

But he slept in his Grobag, which we were using in the basket too.

But for his daytime naps we've just had him in his clothes and put a blanket over him in the moses basket.

We don't have a blanket for the cot yet so we've had to put him down for a nap in his basket again because it has a blanket.

Need to buy a blanket for the cot then right? Are there any issues with blankets for cots with regards to SIDS etc? Just wondering what we need to get.

Thanks.

Why can't you use the grobag you already have or the blanket out of the Moses basket?

Cellular blankets are good if you want to buy something else though.

Thanks for your reply. We tucked the blanket into the sides of the basket so it was safe. It's not big enough to do that with the cot. And it seems a lot of disruption to have to change him into and out of the Grobag as he's napping four times a day.
But I guess that could be the option, or a bigger cellular blanket. As I say, just want to do whatever is safe. Don't want anything he's going to untuck and cover his face with.

If he is 13wks old he ought to be napping in the same room as you so just use the moses basket blanket and keep an eye on him.

My baby is 5 weeks. She wears a grobag at night but during the day I just chuck a blanket over her. She's always either on me, in the same room as me, or at least very close by so I can regularly check on her. I think it's only an issue if you're asleep as well and can't keep an eye out. I don't think you need to worry do too much!

If you really want a cot blanket though, Mothercare have cellular cot blankets in their online sale. I often use large muslins or fleece blankets too depending on how cold it is.
