Chicco next 2 me

Hi,

I'm looking at cribs for my first baby. With the Chicco next 2 me, do you sleep with the side down all night? I wasn't sure whether this was safe but because the side bars clip in to the bottom when the sides are down and then the crib is attached right to the bed, it doesn't look ready to briefly zip down the sides to get the baby out in the night. Does anyone have experience of this?

Thanks

I have it zipped down and a towel folded on the portion between the beds as is really hard where the fold comes down and I read one baby rolled their neck onto the divide in couldn't breathe! Sounds confusing but if you have a look at the display in Mothercare you will see what I mean! I also had a Moses basket for the first month, was only 17 pounds and because is all enclosed like the womb he seemed to like it more than his other bed or crib!

I generally keep the side fastened up all night. It isn’t very high and I can easily reach out to touch LO.

I worried that my covers might creep over into her crib which is why I chose to keep it zipped up.

I thought I would keep it zipped up because I think that's what the guidelines say but in the end I just left it unzipped. We used a sleepyhead inside the crib so I didn't worry about where it meets the side of the bed and DS couldn't roll out. I can remember being a bit worried about inadvertently covering DS with the duvet. This never happened, although our crib was right up the top of the bed near the headboard so not much duvet went near it anyway. I suppose if you had a bedside table and then the crib you could kick the duvet over the crib because it's further down.
