Recommendations on dummys/sucking to settle

Hello,

Just after a bit of advice/recommendations on dummys and settling.

I'm a first time mum to 8 week old DD. She has been EBF up to this week when we've started to introduce formula every other feed.

She's always very sleepy after a feed, but only falls to actual sleep either whilst feeding at the breast or sucking on my finger. Once she's asleep you can remove nipple or finger and she stays asleep so just seems to need the sucking to drop off. That means when she is feeding from a bottle, afterwards she will only drop off for a nap with a finger to suck on.

I've tried her with MAM and NUK dummies but she's not keen on either - she spits them out or sucks for a bit then drops it.

My questions are:

  1. Any recommendations on a good dummy brand for a baby who is a bit fussy about taking one?
  2. Should I try and push the dummy at all as a way to settle to sleep, or leave it and be grateful I don't have to wean her off it later?
  3. Any tips on helping her to settle to sleep without sucking? Once we transition completely to bottles I don't really want to have to sit there with my finger in her mouth everytime she wants a nap Grin

Thank you!

My baby prefers tommee tippee dummies cause of the bell shape. Mam were too flat for her

I tried SO many dummies with my EBF baby as she would only sleep on my boob and eventually she took a tommee tippee cherry soother shape one.
