17 week old started waking in night

DD is a really good sleeper and has been going from 6.30pm for 12 hours for the last six weeks. The last week or so she has been waking up in the night a few times but is easily settled down with her dummy. However the last couple of nights she has been waking up about 2am hungry. She has settled after her feed. Is this just a growth spurt? DH has suggested giving her some hungry baby formula for her last feed but I have heard mixed reviews about it. She has also recently had her third set of immunisations but this wasn't a problem after her last set. Hope someone is able to offer some advice.

No real help but because I thought it said, walking... and I was most impressed.

16/17 weeks is massive growth spurt time and if she is having a full feed at night she needs it, especially if she settles after it. Hungry Baby formula can give some LOs tummy ache. I am sure it will settle in a few days

Blimey - I just read your title as 17 week old WALKING in night I must get some sleep!!

Agree with TM but also it has got colder in the last few weeks. Cold wakes babies faster than anything IME - have you tried adding a blanket/switching the heating back on?

I really would be worried if she was sleep walking already! Good point about the colder weather, she has a summer sleeping bag so I might try turning the heating up a bit. I'm not going to bother with the hungry baby stuff, will just see if she settles back to her sleep in a few days. Thanks.

Don't want to panic you but we started sleep is for the week originally because a few of us had babies that had previously been good sleepers and at about that age it all went pear shaped. Some of us are still recovering 4 months later! however some have settled back into their original routine. It is a bit growth and developmental period so although you probably feel knackered try and cling to the hope that it is temporary.

(PS I don't think one waking in the night for feeding at this age is considered out of the ordinary)

Thanks - I knew it was too good to be true the amount of sleep we were getting! She was up again last night but was more upset than anything and didn't want a feed. Her second tooth has just came through and she usually suffers a bit from her immunisations so it might be a combination of factors. Will have to get back to my old routine of going to sleep at eight o'clock to cope with the night wakings - just as I was getting used to a couple of glasses of wine and a normal bedtime!
