Should I carry on?!

Hi

Just wanting some advise? 12 month old DS. Prior to being ill I used to rock him then put him down drowsy and go back in and repeat if he cried - usually a few times.

Since being ill (chest infection so we were awake a lot at night for several nights) he will cry instantly so I have now started sitting by his cot and lying him down when he stands up.

I have done this for four nights and it's taken 1hr,1hr,45m, 1hr. He still wakes a couple of times in the night and gets up at 5.30ish.

Do you think I just carry on? In the night he tends to just self settle after milk but if not I will do this.

Any thoughts ? X

Oh and he isn't cryin when I'm st there if anything he thinks it's funny.

It's just that because I have decided not to rock him he has lost out on a few hours sleep now and I have lost most of my evening?!

Why did you stop rocking him if it was working?
