Short naps

Hi, I wondered if anyone had any advice or tips. I have a 4 month old who only naps for 30 minutes at a time, therefore 1 sleep cycle. I’ve tried various things to get him to sleep longer including going in just before 30 minutes as he’s started stirring a little to soothe him back to sleep. If he wakes I try to rock him back to sleep in my arms and if I’m successful as soon as I put him down he’s wide awake again. He wakes up happy and just grins at me. He then is yawning again an hour later though. We are on eat play sleep cycle and at night he goes down easily at 7pm and sleeps until the dream feed around 10/11 and then wakes for feeds around 2/3 and 5/6. Should I keep trying to extend the nap duration in the day? Or not worry that they are short? And if so does anyone have any tips? Thank you!

Mine was exactly the same at 4 months, and on same night schedule too.
Suddenly around 5-6 months the naps started lengthening - in her bed.
If she’s in pram or car seat they are still 30 mins.
But in bed she’ll go longer.
I didn’t have to do anything.
Just go with it and hopefully it will get better (then worse/then better etc etc)
I do play white noise during naps though (and at night) and think that helps

I have a 5 mo who is only just starting to sleep for longer stretches. IME if they wake up happy the there’s nothing you can do about it. My first I spent hours rocking him, resettling him etc. This one I just let him do his thing. He’s had about 5 naps today I think and we’re both less stressed compared to with DC1.

Thanks I appreciate it! I’ll just go with it and hope they lengthen in time!

DD is 5.5 months and had always had 5 30 minute naps, it's only these last 2 days she's been doing longer stretches, she did a 1.5 hour one yesterday!

Good to know that other people have a similar experience thanks!
